Beach Ball Free For All 2009 - Bands

Trailer Choir (Show Dog Nashville Recods)
http://www.trailerchoir.com/

For Trailer Choir, the last 18 months have been a frenetic introduction to the national stage. From their signing with Show Dog Nashville and releasing a self-titled EP to being named About.com's Best New Country Duo/Group, the trio made a notable impression on country music without seeming to pause for so much as an extra breath. But as they turn to 2009 and beyond, Butter, Big Vinny and Crystal know their story will be told only as the full spectrum of their music unfolds for all to hear. Sheer energy got their foot in the door, but it is their heart that will help them take the room. And nothing exemplifies that heart quite like "What Would You Say."

Trailer Choir performed numerous shows in 2008: opening for Toby Keith, CMA Music Festival, and National Finals Rodeo, plus, their song  "Last Man Standing" was used by ESPN & ABC in a national NASCAR promotion. And all this activity culminated in the November 2008 release of the four-song EP Trailer Choir, produced by Keith himself.

Love And Theft (Carolwood Records)

Love and Theft are a new band out of Nashville consisting of three incredibly talented singer/songwriters coming together blending rich harmonies over powerful, inspiring, profound and infectiously catchy songs. Eric Gunderson, Stephen Barker Liles and Brian Bandas each take turns singing lead over tasteful organic arrangements. Their live shows are captivating and the deep sonic wave of fullness that comes from their passionate and expressive voices in full harmony is just amazing.

After making the rounds with a few labels in Nashville, the band performed a 3-song showcase in the offices of Lyric Street/Carolwood Records for A&R chief Doug Howard who immediately declared, "You should have never made it to my office...you should have already been signed! Please don't play for anyone else," and the label quickly moved to sign the band.  After Taylor Swift heard the trio's music, she brought them on board as an opening act for her headlining concerts in '08.

Justin Moore (Valory Music Co.)

Justin moved to Nashville, Tennessee right out of high school at the age of 18. He came from Poyen Arkansas, population 272.   By the time Justin got to Nashville, he had a manger and an offer as a writer/artist with Zomba Music Publishing.  As things often go in the music business, Zomba got sold and Justin wound up signing his writing deal with Big Picture Music, headed by renowned producer of Alan Jackson, among others, Keith Stegal.

This quickly led to an offer from Scott Borchetta for a record contract, and while it took a few years to materialize, Justin has seen the benefits of being patient and his willingness to wait for the opportunity to work with Scott and his staff at Big Machine Records/The Valory Music Company, home to Taylor Swift, Reba, Jewel, Jimmy Wayne and others.

2008 became a big year for Justin, as he and his band were fortunate enough to tour with some big stars.  January ’08 led to tour dates with Trace Adkins/ Luke Bryant and then The Rowdy Frynds Tour with Lynyrd Skynyrd and Hank Williams Jr., two of Justin’s musical heros.  A show with Brooks and Dunn with ZZ Top was just another highlight of a great year.

Brady Seals (Nine North Records)

Singer/songwriter/artist Brady Seals has a pedigree for success. You could say that music is “in his blood,” as he is related to numerous industry heavyweights including Jimmy Seals (Seals & Crofts), Dan Seals (England Dan & John Ford Coley) and country songwriters Troy Seals (Songwriting Hall of Fame Member) and Chuck Seals. Over the course of his career, Brady Seals has sold over 11 million albums, topped three genres simultaneously, and his songs continue to captivate and be licensed for TV, radio and film.

A touring musician since the age of 16, Brady Seals is probably best known for his tenure in Little Texas and as front man for the dynamic country “super group” Hot Apple Pie. During his six years as keyboardist and co-lead singer for the multi-platinum group Little Texas, they were voted the ACM’s "Vocal Group of the Year" and received two Grammy nominations. Little Texas celebrated three consecutive number one hits with “What Might Have Been,” “God Blessed Texas” and “My Love,” all of which Seals co-wrote, granting him the ASCAP “Triple Play Award.”
